Commercial Sign Fabrication, Built in Carrollton for DFW
The drawings you approve become metal, acrylic, LED light and paint at our manufacturing facility in Carrollton, TX. Channel letters, lit cabinets, monuments and dimensional letters are built here, finished in your brand colors and wired before they ever reach your site.

What is sign fabrication?
Sign fabrication is the manufacturing stage of a sign project, where approved drawings become a finished sign ready to install. It covers forming metal, cutting faces and letters, finishing to brand colors, applying graphics and fitting LED lighting and wiring. Signs Express fabricates at its Carrollton, TX manufacturing facility, so building and installing stay with one company.
What the service includes
Fabrication, handled end to end.
Channel letters
Letters lit through the face, lit from behind as a halo, or both, with returns formed to each character, faces cut to match and LED modules laid out inside for even light.
Lit and non-lit cabinets
Single and double-faced cabinets for walls, poles and monuments, including shaped logo cabinets and cabinets divided into replaceable tenant panels.
Monument signs
Freestanding monuments built as complete assemblies: sign face, cap, base cladding and any lighting, ready to be set at your property.
Dimensional letters and logos
Non-lit letters and logo shapes for building walls, lobbies and monument faces, mounted flush or on stand-offs to throw a clean shadow line.
Graphics and vinyl
Printed and cut vinyl for sign faces and panels, plus window and wall graphics prepared in the shop for application on site.
Finishing to brand colors
Paint, acrylic and vinyl selected against your brand color references, then checked in daylight and, for illuminated faces, with the lights on.
Electrical assembly
LED modules, power supplies and internal wiring fitted and tested before delivery, so installation day is spent mounting and connecting, not troubleshooting.
Why it matters
Where a sign is built decides how well it goes up.
A sign built by one company and installed by another has a hand-off in the middle, and hand-offs are where problems hide: a missing bracket, a mounting pattern that does not suit the wall, a color nobody checked under light. When fabrication and installation belong to the same company, the people building the sign already know where it is going and how it will be fastened.
Building close to home also shortens the distance between a question and an answer. If a detail needs adjusting after the survey or before installation, it gets adjusted in the same facility where the sign is being made, by the people making it.

How it works
Our fabrication process.
- 01
Release to production
Work begins from the approved shop drawings once design, landlord and permit sign-offs are in place. Dimensions, colors, lighting and mounting are checked against the drawing before any material is cut.
- 02
Cut and form
Metal is cut and formed into letter returns, cabinets and structures. Faces, backs and letter shapes are cut to the drawing so every piece lines up with the approved layout.
- 03
Finish
Parts are painted and faces colored with acrylic or vinyl to your brand references. Finishes are reviewed for coverage, color and clean edges before assembly.
- 04
Light and wire
Illuminated signs get their LED modules, power supplies and wiring, then are lit in the shop to look for dark spots, uneven color and loose connections.
- 05
Assemble and inspect
The finished sign is assembled, compared against the drawing and checked for fit, finish and hardware, then protected and staged for delivery and installation.

Where are Signs Express signs made?
In our own manufacturing facility at 1500 N Interstate 35E, Ste 100, Carrollton, TX, which is also our head office. From there, Signs Express delivers and installs them across Dallas Fort Worth.
Can you match my exact brand colors?
Send your brand guide or color references, such as PMS numbers or paint codes, and we match paint, acrylic and vinyl to them. A color can look different lit from behind than it does printed on paper, so for illuminated faces we judge the match with the light on as well as off.
Do you test illuminated signs before installation?
Yes. LED modules, power supplies and wiring are fitted in the shop and the sign is lit before it leaves. A dark letter or a loose connection is far easier to fix on the shop floor than on a lift at your site.
What needs to happen before fabrication can start?
Approved shop drawings, confirmed colors and, when the sign needs them, landlord approval and a city permit. Building before approvals are final risks making a sign that then has to change, so we hold production until they are in place.
How long does sign fabrication take?
Build time follows the sign: its type, size and lighting, the number of signs in the order and when approvals clear. A set of non-lit lobby letters and a lit multi-tenant pylon are very different builds. Once design and approvals are mapped out, you get a schedule specific to your sign.
What materials do you build signs from?
Common materials include aluminum for letter returns, cabinets and structures, acrylic or polycarbonate for lit faces, paint and vinyl for color and graphics, and LED modules for light. The right combination depends on the sign type, how it is lit and the look you want.
Are your signs easy to repair later?
We build with service in mind. LED modules and power supplies are placed where they can be reached, and faces are made to come out, so a failed component or a new logo does not mean rebuilding the whole sign.
