Capabilities

Commercial Sign Capabilities, From Site Survey to Service

Nine capabilities cover the full life of a commercial sign, and each has its own page. Together they let a sign move from first idea to installation, and through years of service, without changing hands.

What can Signs Express do for a sign project?

Signs Express handles every stage of a commercial sign: site surveys, design, engineering details, permitting, project management, fabrication at our Carrollton facility, installation, and repair and maintenance. For brands with several locations, we also run multi-location sign programs. You can start with one sign or a full program, and the same company carries it through.

The sign lifecycle

Nine capabilities, one accountable team.

01

Site surveys

We measure the building, note where drivers and pedestrians will first catch sight of the sign, and confirm power and existing conditions. Every later decision rests on this visit.

02

Sign design

Your brand translated into a buildable sign, drawn to scale with materials, lighting and mounting specified for the landlord, the city and the shop.

03

Sign engineering

We prepare structural, attachment and electrical details, and coordinate sealed engineering when a city or site calls for it.

Installation

The crew that sets your sign also wires it: mounting, alignment and the electrical connection are all handled by Signs Express as a licensed electrical sign contractor.

08

Repair and maintenance

When LEDs fail, faces crack, storms hit or tenants change, we find the fault and replace what failed, keeping the parts that still work.

09

Multi-location programs

For brands with more than one site: a documented sign standard applied to each location through its own survey, permit and phased installation.

Why one team

How the capabilities connect.

The capabilities are less a menu than a sequence. The survey sets the limits the design has to work within. The design becomes the drawings that engineering details and the city reviews. Approved drawings become the shop's build documents, and how the sign is built decides how installation goes.

The sequence does not end at installation. A sign spends far more of its life on the building than in the shop, and over that life LEDs age, faces weather, tenants change and brands refresh. Repair and maintenance close the loop, and for multi-location brands the whole sequence repeats site by site under one standard.

When one company holds every stage, information carries forward instead of getting lost between contractors: survey notes reach the shop, and the shop drawings are on hand when the sign needs service.

Straight answers

Capabilities: common questions.

Can I hire Signs Express for only part of a project?

The capabilities are designed to feed each other, which is why we prefer to handle them together. If you need only part of the work, such as a repair, a face change or permitting for a sign that is already designed, tell us what you have and we will say plainly what we can take on.

Why does it matter that one company handles every stage?

Most sign problems start at a hand-off: a survey measurement that never reached the designer, a drawing the shop read differently or an installer meeting a sign for the first time on site. With every stage in one company, those hand-offs happen inside one team that answers for the result.

Do you provide engineering for signs?

We prepare engineering details for sign structures, attachments and electrical as part of each project that needs them. When a city or site requires sealed engineering, we coordinate it with a licensed professional engineer and include it in the permit package.

Who does the electrical work on your illuminated signs?

We do. Illuminated signs are wired in our shop and connected on site by Signs Express under Texas Electrical Sign Contractor #18921, issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Where does a project start?

With a conversation, then a site survey. Send what you already know: the address, photos of the building, your logo and any landlord criteria. The survey fills in the rest and gives design a real starting point.

Do you look after signs once they are installed?

Yes. Repair and maintenance covers LED and power supply replacement, face and panel changes, re-facing after a rebrand, storm damage assessment and periodic checks.

Do you work with brands that have several locations?

Yes. Multi-location sign programs apply one sign standard across your sites, with a survey, drawings and permit for each location and installation phased to your schedule, across Dallas Fort Worth.

Start with the space. End with a landmark.

Send the address, a photo and your logo. We will visit the site, tell you what is possible and map every capability your project needs.
