What does commercial sign repair include?

Commercial sign repair covers the parts of a sign that wear, break or change after installation: LED modules and power supplies that fail, faces and panels that crack or fade, damage from storms and tenant panels that change as leases turn over. It also covers re-facing a sign after a rebrand. Many repairs keep the existing structure and replace only what failed.

What the service includes

Repair & Maintenance, handled end to end.

01

LED and power supply replacement

Dim, dark or flickering sections are traced to the failed module, power supply or connection and swapped out while the letters or cabinet stay in place.

02

Face and panel replacement

Cracked, faded or broken faces are replaced with new acrylic, polycarbonate or panels, in the original colors or updated ones.

03

Re-facing after a rebrand

New logo, new colors, same structure. When a cabinet, pole or monument is sound, new faces or graphics can carry a rebrand with far less disruption than a new sign.

04

Storm damage assessment

After high winds or hail, we inspect the sign, make it safe, document what failed and scope the repair. Photos and a written description are useful if you file a claim.

05

Tenant panel changes

Individual panels on multi-tenant monuments and pylons swapped as tenants come and go, sized to the existing cabinet and made to sit cleanly beside the panels around them.

06

Periodic checks

A planned look at your signs, lit and unlit, to catch failing LEDs, loose hardware, fading faces and water getting in before any of it shows from the street.

07

Electrical troubleshooting

Timers, photocells, switches and sign wiring diagnosed and repaired under Texas Electrical Sign Contractor #18921.

Why it matters

A dark sign still sends a message.

People read a sign with missing letters or a cracked face as a statement about the business behind it: closed, careless or on the way out. For a restaurant open late or a store that depends on evening traffic, a failed run of LEDs costs visibility during exactly the hours the sign was built for.

Most failures start small. A single power supply, a seal that lets water in, a fastener working loose in the wind. Caught early, they are routine repairs. Left alone, they spread to the parts around them and the repair grows.

How it works

Our repair & maintenance process.

  1. 01

    Tell us what you see

Send photos of the sign, at night as well as during the day if it is illuminated, with the address and what has changed. A photo of any label on the cabinet or raceway helps too.

  2. 02

    Inspect and diagnose

We look at the sign in person, trace the fault to its source and check the rest of the sign while we are there, so one repair does not hide a second problem.

  3. 03

    Scope the repair

You get a plain description of what failed, what we recommend replacing and any options, such as replacing one damaged face or re-facing the whole sign.

  4. 04

    Check approvals

Face changes, re-facing and structural repairs sometimes need a permit or landlord sign-off, depending on the city and the property. We check before ordering materials.

  5. 05

    Repair and verify

Parts are replaced, the sign is powered and checked lit, and we confirm it reads the way it should from the street before the job is closed.

Straight answers

Repair & Maintenance: common questions.

Something else on your mind? Call (469) 901-3108 or send the details through the quote form.

Why are some of my letters dark while the rest still work?

Lit letters and cabinets are wired in sections, each fed by a power supply. When one section goes dark, the cause is usually a failed power supply, a broken connection or a failed run of LED modules rather than the whole sign. That makes most dark-letter repairs targeted, not total.

Can you repair a sign you did not build?

In many cases, yes. LED modules, power supplies, faces and panels can be replaced on most commercial signs regardless of who built them. We inspect the sign first, because an older or unusual sign can need parts made to fit.

Can an old fluorescent sign cabinet be converted to LED?

Often, yes. If the cabinet and frame are sound, the fluorescent tubes and ballasts can come out and LED modules and power supplies go in. The sign draws less power and its parts are simpler to replace. We check the cabinet's condition before recommending the conversion.

We rebranded. Do we need a whole new sign?

Not always. If the structure, cabinet or raceway is in good shape, new faces, vinyl or panels can carry the new brand. If the logo has changed shape or the letters need to change size, new letters on the existing structure may still save the parts that work. We look at what is there and tell you what can stay.

Does a face change need a permit?

It depends on the city and, for leased property, the landlord. Some cities treat a face change as maintenance and others want a permit, and landlords with tenant sign criteria usually want to approve new graphics. We check both before ordering materials.

What should I do if a storm damages my sign?

If anything is hanging, cracked open or exposing wires, keep people clear and, only if it is safe to do so, switch the sign off at its switch or breaker. Take photos from a safe distance, then call us. We inspect the damage, make the sign safe and give you a written scope for the repair.

How often should a commercial sign be checked?

No single schedule suits every sign. Sun, heat, age and the hours a sign runs each night all play a part. A useful habit is to look at your sign after dark every few weeks, and to have it checked properly after severe weather or before an important reopening.

Can you replace one tenant panel on our monument or pylon?

Yes. We measure the existing panel opening, make the new panel to fit and match the background color and layout the property uses, so it sits cleanly with its neighbors. If the property has tenant sign criteria, the new panel follows it.
